    Had my eye on these shoes since I watched the videos you guys made in Japan! I always wore the 5.10 Crawe, but looks as though Adidas Five Ten aren't making climbing shoes anymore. How should the Qubit be sized/downsized? This would be my first pair of Unparallel 👍

      They fit great for me. Also with a „regular“ foot shape. I did not get the impression they are too narrow. But thy offer an amazing toe patch and are great to stay on small footholds. I love them! 🤩

      If you really think about it being vegan kills more animals per meal than eating only meat by a very large margin😂 in order to grow those crops they have to till that field which kills every mouse or vole or worm or rabbit etc. literally everything in that field and then what doesnt die from tilling it they poison the shit out of anything left if i kill 1 cow that can feed my family for 3-6 months guess its really just question of how cute or big does the animal have to be for you to care about it dying so you can eat

      Why? Leather products are more sustainable and last much longer

    • @AW-po7jr
      @AW-po7jr 20 годин тому

      @@SkyBumsthat’s probably true but not everybody wants dead animal skin on their feet. Beside, leather climbing shoes are not superior in terms of climbing performance so why choose the product that comes with questionable ethics?

    • @00Platypus00
      @00Platypus00 18 годин тому

      @@SkyBums Sustainability and ethics are different things. A blunt example (not a comparison, mind you): killing people is "sustainable" as it reduces emissions, but it is certainly not ethical. Also, assessing sustainability is tricky... Are you taking all the emissions produced by the animals into account? All that goes into it like water consumption, polution caused by manure, land use, etc? How do we compare that to other materials exactly?

    I frequent a gym in London where Jake, the guy in the thumbnail, sets. He is an unfortunately not a great setter at all - always sets quite tall and has no understanding of how to make climbs more universal, I've watched him set for a while now. It's often him alongside other guys which are around 6ft, the fault lies with all of them to be honest. Many shorter people, including most females are completely alienated on multiple climbs - even V1s to V3s! They're exponentially harder due to this. Fortunately, I've seen some setters around Europe who actually actively take this into account and other gyms in the area clearly don't have this issue. Many of us have already reported feedback to the gym, but I also hope he sees this comment and tries to fix such a blatant error.

    to think this extreme alpinist and cohorts perished in the rocky Mts. on a springtime ascent where slush avalanches are common in warm afternoons on sun exposed slopes at that time of year. they must not have known that this type of condition was perilous as they would not have been on that section if they had known of this hazard in that part of Canada. loose eroding sedimentary rock and sluff avalanching spring snow......what could go wrong......if they knew about it they would not have gone up there at that time...rip to David and friends😔

    So, this man, who at a young age strived to be in the British Army, which already has a lot of restrictions on how far they can reach in the British "high command"/ special forces, somehow manages to get into one, and I doubt it was based on the measurement of his penis. These regiments he joins have a reputation in the British realm to be professional. So, this professional dude puts his career, financial status, his family including extended who are dependent on him on the line to be where he is at today. Gives limelight to the Sherpas whose role have always been downplayed in the Western realm, practically carrying pampered dirtbags on their shoulders to and from the summit. So, this dude after achieving what he did, decides to professionally continue on the mountaineering business. Continues to put every competition behind. Speaks for himself and the Sherpas because no one else did since the summit of Tenzing and Hillary. This dude after getting all the money and fame, after going through all the hardships and sacrifices, decides to sexually assault two women who bought his services? I would have actually blindly accepted if he had sexual affairs or if there were claims that he was found in brothels of Netherlands or Italy but why would he put it all at risk. I have read some claims, he proceeded to masturbate next to one of these women? What in the fucking jealousy is this talk about? Why would this man have to specifically molest or whatever they mean by the sexual assault by the accusers when he could have just gone to one of these brothels to do it, guilt free? That is assuming he is not faithful to his wife, and disrespects her. And, he waited after all this time to do this. Is this jealousy? Are Europeans afraid of his achievements?

    The problem with size recommendations based on street shoe size is that they always turn out way to short, so no matter how you break them in they will never fit anything, except for the trash can. I gave up and rely on my trusty approach shoes.

    I wear 8 in street shoes. My 5-10 Niad Lace are 8.5 and my Scarpa Vapor S are 7.5 They are both way too small. I can't put any weight on my feet, so my climbing would improve significantly if I instead spent my money on a surgeon to cut of my legs.

    I recently bought an Alpine UP - a big brother of Click Up, able to take two strands (rappelling, simul). Having belayed on an ATC, GriGri, and MegaJul before, Alpine Up is definitely my favorite and frankly it's quite surprising to me how much less popular and known it is, given how well it works and how easy it is to learn - giving slack is almost as easy as with an ATC (I don't like the way you do it with a GriGri, seems kinda sketchy, similar with MegaJul), it's versatile and locks up super well - although there has to be at least minimal tension downwards on the blocking end of the rope, so won't work unless you hold it. Though tbh I kinda like that as well - GriGri gives a lot of people a false sense of confidence because it usually locks up even not held - but it's that tiny margin of error that might get you ;)
